Gym review of Chewton Glen in New Forest, Hampshire, UK

Located right next to New Forest, you will find the 5 star resort Chewton Glen.

The historic resort has put a fair amount of effort into offering various fitness options to their guests.

The hotel has three fitness studios, which can be used to work out solo or join one of the many group classes available (it was quite an impressive schedule).

There is a spinning studio, a group class studio which offers small equipment and lots of open space (perfect for various classes) and the typical gym with cardio machines, resistance equipment and free weights.

Options are plentiful and even though some of it might be a tad outdated, the selection of machines is very satisfactory and should offer plenty of variation within the workouts for guests.

PROS:
CONS:
  • Good selection of equipment
  • Generous class schedule
  • Well cooled
  • Fresh water
  • Towels
  • Did not seem busy
  • Close to pool and jacuzzi
  • Even though there is a lot to offer, the spaces themselves are worn and outdated.  Fairly low ceilings and does not necessarily have a “gym” vibe to it
  • Some areas felt cramped (near the free weights)
  • Some equipment is a bit worn and outdated
  • Little natural light
My Rating:
4/5
